The Octographer: World’s First Octopus Photographer Learned How To Use a Camera after Just 3 Attempts

We’ve heard of elephants that can paint, but what animal can take photographs?

To everyone’s surprise, an inhabitant of New Zealand’s Sea Life Aquarium has recently learned how to snap photos of the humans staring in at her. To promote its water-resistant camera, Sony teamed up with the aquarium to teach an octopus named Rambo how to take photos. The device was mounted to the side of the eight-legged invertebrate’s tank and it took Rambo just three attempts to master the task.

One of the trainers said:

When we first tried to get her to take a photo, it only took three attempts for her to understand the process. That’s faster than a dog. Actually it’s faster than a human in some instances.
