The Best Wedding Gift Ever: Maroon 5 Crashes Wedding Receptions in New Single ‘Sugar’ [VIDEO]
Is there anything better than marrying the love of your life? Not much, but having Adam Levine and Maroon 5 surprise you on your wedding day with a personal concert comes pretty close. For their latest pop single and love song “Sugar,” Maroon 5 drove around Los Angeles crashing weddings and filming it all for the music video.
The video, which echoes the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers, was actually shot by that movie’s director, David Dobkin. At each wedding, the film crew hurries inside, configures a giant white backdrop and, as confused guests look on agape, the curtain drops to reveal the band in mid-performance. The reactions of the guests, ranging from utter shock to elation, are priceless.
In a press release, Levine spoke of the escapade:
It was an out of body experience. I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.
“Sugar” is Maroon 5’s third single from the album V. The video was filmed on December 16, 2014, and will make its TV debut on Saturday, January 17, at 9 a.m. on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown.
