AIR London: Capturing the Glowing Capital of England at Night From 6,000 Feet Up [VIDEO]

Nicknamed “The Smoke” or “The Big Smoke” for its air pollution, London does not always have the clearest weather. That didn’t stop photographer Vincent Laforet from including the UK city in “AIR,” his project to photograph and film cities from above at night.

To capture electrifying aerial photos, Laforet flew 6,000 feet above London in a helicopter for two hours in May 2015. This short, two-minute video records Laforet’s flight from preparation to final product. Several of his photos are featured in the video, showcasing a neon London under a hazy sky that seems to glow in the darkness.

Other cities in the “AIR” series include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.
