A New Wave: Legendary Surfer Rides a Foilboard as it Hovers Above the Water’s Surface [VIDEO]

Think surfing is cool? Foilboarding is even cooler. What’s foilboarding, you ask? It’s a type of surfing that uses hydrofoil, which pushes the surfboard off the water, essentially allowing you to hover.

“Ultimate Waterman” Laird Hamilton, a legendary surfer, can be seen foilboarding in this video. He takes the device to the shores of Raglan, New Zealand, explaining how it works and showcasing what it looks like to foilboard. It’s almost surreal to watch, as Hamilton smoothly flies with the waves and floats over the surface of the sea.
