Merry Christmas from The Killers, Jimmy Kimmel and “Joel, the Lump of Coal” [VIDEO]

Each year since 2006, The Killers have written and recorded a special Christmas song to raise money for charity. This year, the rock band teamed up with Jimmy Kimmel to debut the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and let’s just say that late night host had some interesting ideas of his own.

While brainstorming, Kimmel proposed “a very YOLO Chistmas” or plagiarizing Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” Eventually The Killers and Kimmel came up with the subject of their song: Joel, a friendly little lump of coal. Although the song is about Joel being sent by Santa to a naughty child for Christmas, there is an unexpected, happy twist at the end.

Check it out to find out what happens to Joel, the Lump of Coal! You can also download the song on iTunes, where all proceeds go to AIDS awareness and the (RED) organization.
