Homeless Subway Singer Stuns American Idol Judges Nearly to Tears [VIDEO]

It’s the feel good story of this year’s American Idol. Singer and songwriter Hollywood Anderson is a formerly homeless New York City subway busker who persevered, overcame adversity, and made his way to American Idol auditions. Not only did he work hard to reach the stage, but he nailed it once there.

For the auditions, Anderson sang “My Best Friend,” an original song that he accompanied with his guitar, a gift from the director of a Covenant House shelter. Anderson’s song was so beautiful, the lyrics so touching and his voice so arresting that he stunned the judges, nearly bringing them to tears.

The judges called it:

Unquestionably, the best audition today, of the last two days, and possibly of the last four cities.
