“Dave, I have no idea what I’ll do when you go off the air… You know, I just thought of something – I’ll be fine.” This was number seven on David Letterman’s final top ten list of “Things I’ve Always Wanted to Say to Dave,” uttered by great comedian Jerry Seinfeld, on the last episode of the Late Show. On May 20, after 33 wonderful and humorous years, Letterman said goodbye to his fans, TV crew, co-stars, and celebrity guests.
For the last-ever “top ten lists” segment, Letterman invited 10 celebrities and frequent guests to share some “special” words they’ve always wanted to say to him before he retires. The celebrities included, in order: Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Peyton Manning, Tiny Fey and Bill Murray.
