100 Years of Hair and Makeup in Mexico Shown Decade by Decade in 90 Seconds [VIDEO]

We’re traveling back in time and all over the world with these videos on the history of beauty. Cut Video has released the fifth episode of their “100 Years of Hair and Makeup” series that shows a century of women’s beauty standards, decade by decade. In this 90-second timelapse, you can see what hair and makeup looked like in Mexico. It starts with hair befitting a revolutionary – braids tucked under a sombrero – circa 1910 and ends with the long wavy hair of today, with everything in between. Interestingly, these videos are proving that women’s beauty standards around the world mostly followed similar trends, from the classic look of the 1920s-1950s to the funky looks of the ’60s-80s.
