The Aurora Borealis From Above: a Timelapse of the Northern Lights as Seen From Space [VIDEO]

There are countless videos that allow us to experience the aurora borealis when we can’t travel to witness the wondrous sight. But seeing the aurora borealis in person from Earth is achievable, given the right time, weather conditions, and travel capabilities.

So, what about experiencing the auroras in a way most of us will never be able to? Now you can, thanks to production company Selmesfilms, creator of award-winning nature films and cinematography. Using images taken from the International Space Station’s Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit, they’ve created a beautiful timelapse of the northern lights as seen from space. The video features images of aurora borealis and aurora australis, the northern lights’ southern counterpart.
