A Keen Eye for Scene: Pictogram Movie Posters Depict Famous Films in Just Two Frames

If a movie like Fight Club could be summed up in two scenes, which would they be? What about for movies like A Clockwork Orange or The Big Lebowski – which two scenes would you choose?

Swedish graphic designer Viktor Hertz answers these questions in his new series of pictogram-style movie posters that depict famous films in just two frames per movie. In addition to the movies mentioned above, the designs include Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump and the original Star Wars trilogy.

Hertz is currently raising funds for his project on Kickstarter. He writes:

I’ve been working with pictograms since I started doing graphic design. However, this time I wanted to come up with a completely new concept – so, I tried to depict movies in just two still frames. Think of it as an extremely short film, summarizing the story and visualizing the changes the characters go through.

Intriguingly, the movie posters somehow do manage to accurately represent each movie in just two images. How Hertz does that is beyond us!
