Brilliant Night Photographs of New York City at Night Captured From 7,500 Feet Up

What’s better than a beautiful photo of New York City? An album of beautiful aerial shots of the city illuminated at night.

Renowned French-American photographer Vincent Laforet dangled out of a helicopter over the city to capture these stunning images of Manhattan and the millions of bright lights that adorn it. That’s right, the daredevil Laforet was able to capture these photos by belaying out of a helicopter using a full-body harness. The series, entitled “Gotham 7.5K,” was part of an assignment for an article about psychology in Men’s Health because the lines made from the city at a high altitude at night remind Laforet of brain synapses.

See Laforet’s photos to experience New York City from a whole new and truly thrilling perspective, flying high above the hustle and bustle of the chaotic city below!
