This Icy Autumn Day in Montreal Looks a Lot Like Winter in Your Dreams [PHOTOS]

If you live in Montreal, Canada, you understand the concept of extreme and sudden weather changes. But sometimes that unexpected weather can cause mystical, beautiful scenes, like it did one recent fall day.

Photographer Alex Rykov captured images of a cold front’s aftermath: ice-covered scrub, trees, and stones. With the water in the background and the sunset straight ahead, Rykov’s photographs look like they are part of a fantasy winter world like that in The Chronicles of Narnia.

On the series’s page, Rykov writes:

I first had a glimpse of it from the other side of the canal. You could see the trees covered in ice and with the sun setting, and I knew it would be quite a place. So the next day I braved the cold and made my way there. The water sprayed through the air with the strong winds causing me to clean the lens every few seconds but I managed to get the shots.
