A Google Maps Version of Middle Earth from ‘Lord of the Rings’ [MAP]

In today’s day and age, it might be easier for you to read Google Maps than an atlas. So Reddit user mbingcrosby created a Google Maps version of Middle Earth based on the maps from The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The map, called Google Maps Middle Earth even has directions from the Shire to Mount Doom in Mordor, showing that it will take about six months to travel there by foot. Just like on Google Maps, you can change your mode of transportation, only here you can travel by boat, horse or eagle. You can also view the map with or without Orcs.

Looking back on it, the Fellowship of The Ring should have just flown on eagles, which according to mbingcrosby’s map is “so much faster.”
