Dubai Above the Clouds: a City of Buildings so High You Can Look Down at the Clouds [PHOTOS]

Dubai has some of the world’s tallest buildings, with nearly one hundred ranging from 590 feet to over 2,000. Chinese photographer Daniel Cheong captures the Dubai skyline on a foggy day, as the tallest buildings pierce through the clouds.

His surreal photographs could only be captured during certain times of the year, when the shifting seasons cause such intense fog. Beyond being patient, Cheong researched weather patterns so that when the time came, he could ascend to the 70th and 80th floors of buildings and capture these breathtaking sights. His images are composites, a blend of multiple exposures to add depth and enhanced color to the photos, and give a new meaning to the word “skyscraper.”
