Reflections in the Desert: Surreal Self-Portraits Using a Mirror, Camera and a Little Digital Manipulation

These mind-bending images in the desert are no mirage. Designer, editor and photographer Ari Fararooy created this incredible series of surreal self-portraits, taken in California’s Joshua Tree National Park using a mirror, his camera and a tripod.

Why can’t you see the camera in the mirrors? Fararooy’s photos leave you scratching your head trying to figure out how he managed to capture them. The truth? He used digital manipulation to alter the photos. Apparently, a little manipulation goes a long way in the desert!
