Levitating Through Life: Dancer Appears to Float in His Self-Portrait Photo Project

Nothing is impossible, it seems, not even levitation. Photographer and dancer Mickael Jou appears to levitate, magically hovering over the ground, in his pictures, which are taken while leaping through the air.

Using a remote and tripod, Jou captures his photographs at the perfect moment mid-jump, making it appear as though he is actually suspended gracefully in air. Jou, a Taiwanese-French-American currently living in Berlin, has traveled around Europe for three years taking his floating photographs. They are part of an ongoing 365 self-portrait project that Jou estimates will take three more years to complete.

Guess you don’t need magic to levitate; all you need is a little inspiration, a camera and a leap of faith.
