Banana Art: Turning the Tasty Yellow Fruit into Delicious Doodles

When you run out of paper, what do you use for your drawings? Netherlands-based artist Stephan Brusche creatively turns to bananas and uses the yellow fruit for his illustrations.

Brusche began his work, which he dubs “banana art” and “fruit doodles,” a few years ago when he first started using Instagram. Excited that he just created his profile, Brusche wanted to post something so he grabbed the banana he had brought to work, drew a smiley face on the peel, and posted it.

And his fruit doodles were born!

Brusche tells Bored Panda:

I was pretty amazed how pleasant a banana peel is to draw on… After that I tried to come up with new ideas for drawings while using the shape of the banana in all kinds of clever ways. Trying to keep pushing myself I eventually started to carve in the banana peel as well.
